The last 25 years have witnessed the emergence of a vigorous Argentine bioindustry,  encouraged by supportive public policies in the regulatory, science and technology and financing areas. Argentina has modernized its regulations in seed biotechnology to significantly reduce times from submission to approval. This environment has encouraged investment, development and growth of the biotech industry, which now includes transgenic plants for agriculture, transgenic animals, novel biopharmaceuticals and biosimilars, food processing, forestry, inoculants, diagnostics, and animal health. The panel will address how Argentine regulations and public policies have been able to follow the pace of the biotechnological innovation while ensuring quality and safety of products. The panel will show how an enabling regulatory environment, appropriate public policies, skilled human resources and growing public and private investments contribute to the success of bio business in Argentina.
