Lisa Hemmerle is the Director of Economic Development at the Cambridge Community Development Department. Until recently, Lisa was the Deputy Director of Economic Initiatives at the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the economic development and Planning agency for the City of Boston. Previously, Lisa ran a nonprofit she founded in New Hampshire for individuals who have suffered a spinal cord injury. After eight years, the organization was merged with Granite State Independent Living, the states largest cross-disability services nonprofit. Prior to that, Lisa worked as a CPA with KPMG, LLP as an auditor and consultant for domestic and international banks. Besides the U.S., she has lived in Germany, the Netherlands and China and traveled extensively. The Boston Business Journal each year honors 40 business men and women who are under 40 years old and have established themselves as leaders to be watched in their fields. In 2010, Lisa was honored with that distinction. In 2007, Lisa graduated with honors from the Harvard Kennedy School with a Masters in Public Administration.
