Don Joseph is currently the Chairman and formerly CEO and COO of BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH). BVGH's mission is to facilitate biopharmaceutical innovation and engagement in global health. We fulfill that mission primarily through administration of the Partnership Hub of WIPO Re:Search, a joint initiative founded by biotech and pharma companies with BVGH and the World Intellectual Property Organization. BVGH's legacy work includes extensive publication in neglected diseases and biotech industry involvement in programs and incentive mechanisms such as the Priority Review Voucher program and the IQ Prize, a milestone-based incentive prize structure designed by BVGH to promote development of a point-of-care multiplex diagnostic tool for diagnosing fever in children, primarily in the developing world. Prior to his operating roles at BVGH, Don held a number of senior positions in both global health (COO, Institute for OneWorld Health) and industry (Head of Corp. Development and/or General Counsel at Abgenix, Amarin, ChemGenex, Elan Pharmaceuticals, Novacea, Renovis and others). Currently, Don is consulting in both industry and global health projects, either with a transactional focus or in an interim operating role.
