Mr. İlker Aycı was born in Istanbul in 1971, graduated from the Bilkent University's Department of Political Science and Public Administration in 1994. He continued his academic studies as a researcher at the Political Science Department of the UK's University of Leeds in 1995. Mr. Aycı completed his Master’s degree in International Relations at Marmara University in 1997. Mr. İlker Aycı's professional career began in 1994, holding positions at Kurtsan İlaçları A.Ş., the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and Universal Dış Ticaret A.Ş. Following these positions, Mr. Aycı became the General Manager at Başak Sigorta A.Ş. between 2005 and 2006, and the General Manager at Güneş Sigorta A.Ş. from 2006. (Both Başak Sigorta and Güneş Sigorta are leading insurance companies of Turkey). Mr. İlker Aycı also served as a chair or board member of various organizations, including the Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey, the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Turkish-Chinese Business Council, Vakıf Emeklilik A.Ş., and Vakıfbank Güneş Sigorta Sports Club (2008 European Challenge Cup Champion).
